How to Get Glowing Skin
Healthy, glowing skin doesn’t necessarily come from using more products. Often, it’s about understanding what your skin needs and giving it the right care, consistently.
After years of working with hair, make-up and beauty, we’ve learnt that the best results rarely come from doing more for the sake of it. The same goes for skincare. A few well-chosen products can make all the difference.
Here’s how we approach a healthy-looking glow.
What does glowing skin actually mean?
Glowing skin isn’t about looking shiny or having a perfectly smooth complexion. It’s about skin that looks hydrated, feels comfortable and reflects light naturally.
Visible pores, texture and the occasional blemish are all part of normal skin. The goal isn’t perfection, but helping your skin look and feel its best.

1. Start with hydration
Well-hydrated skin tends to look plumper, smoother and more radiant. Start with a gentle cleanser, followed by a hydrating serum if your skin needs an extra boost, and finish with a moisturiser to help maintain hydration.
You don’t need a ten-step routine to get results. Your skin probably doesn’t want another complicated project to manage, either.
2. Take care of your skin barrier
Your skin barrier helps keep moisture in and external irritants out. When it becomes compromised, skin can feel dry, tight or irritated, and may look dull.
Gentle cleansing, regular moisturising and avoiding too many active ingredients at once can help keep your skin barrier in good condition.
A good skincare routine should support your skin, not leave it feeling as though it’s been through a training session.
3. Exfoliate, but don’t overdo it
Dead skin cells can build up on the surface, making your complexion look less radiant. Gentle exfoliation can help improve the appearance of skin texture and reveal a fresher-looking complexion.
The key is finding the right balance. Exfoliating too often can cause irritation and leave skin feeling uncomfortable. Start slowly and pay attention to how your skin responds.
Think of exfoliation as a supporting act, not the star of the entire show.

4. Choose ingredients that suit your skin
The right ingredients can help address specific skin concerns while supporting your overall routine.
- Hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain moisture, leaving skin looking hydrated and plump.
- Niacinamide can help support the skin barrier and improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.
- Azelaic acid can help improve the appearance of blemishes, redness and uneven skin texture.
You don’t need to use everything at once. Start with what your skin needs most and introduce new products gradually.
5. Don’t forget your daily SPF
Sun exposure can contribute to pigmentation, uneven skin tone and premature skin ageing. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day is one of the most important steps in caring for your skin.
Even when the sun doesn’t feel particularly strong, UV exposure still matters. Think of SPF as part of your daily routine, rather than something reserved for sunny holidays.

6. Remember that your habits matter too
Skincare is important, but it’s only part of the picture. Sleep, a balanced diet, hydration and managing stress can all contribute to how your skin looks and feels.
No serum can completely undo a week of late nights in one application. We wish it could, but even the best products have their limits.
7. Keep your routine simple and consistent
A good routine doesn’t need to be complicated. Start with the basics and add targeted products when you have a specific concern to address.
In the morning
- Cleanse or rinse, depending on what your skin needs.
- Apply a serum if desired.
- Moisturise.
- Finish with SPF.
In the evening
- Cleanse to remove make-up, sunscreen and daily build-up.
- Apply your chosen serum.
- Finish with moisturiser.
Give your skin time to respond before making too many changes. Consistency often matters more than having the biggest collection of products.
Our final thoughts
Glowing skin isn’t about chasing perfection or adding another product every time your complexion looks a little tired. It’s about understanding your skin, supporting its needs and finding a routine you can stick to.
Choose products with a purpose, give them time to work and remember that healthy skin doesn’t have to look flawless to look beautiful.
And if you wake up one morning looking particularly radiant, we’ll happily let you take all the credit.
