What We Put On Our Faces Every Morning

What We Put On Our Faces Every Morning

Not twelve steps. We have places to be.

We have worked with beauty for most of our lives.

This means we have tried almost everything. Acids, oils, masks, machines, ingredients we couldn’t pronounce and routines that required both patience and excellent bathroom lighting.

What we have learned is rather simple: Consistency is more useful than drama.

Our morning routine changes slightly depending on the season, how the skin feels and how late dinner became the night before. But the essentials remain the same.

First: wake up the skin

In the morning, we cleanse lightly.

The skin does not always need an aggressive new beginning. If it feels balanced, a small amount of Gel Cleanser and lukewarm water is enough.

Not hot water. However emotionally satisfying it may feel, your face is not a dinner plate.

Then we mist generously with Hydrating Face Mist. It adds immediate moisture and makes everything that follows feel better on the skin.

We use more than one spray. “Generously” is one beauty instruction we understand perfectly.

Then: give the skin what it needs

Most mornings, we use Moisture Boost Serum.

Hydration makes the skin look fresher, smoother and considerably more pleased with life. Apply a few drops to slightly damp skin and press them in rather than rubbing furiously.

If the skin feels tired or needs more support, we add Collagen Boost Serum.

Do you need every serum every morning? No. Skincare should respond to your face, not to the number of bottles you own.

Don’t forget the eyes

Eye Cream goes around the eye area using a small amount and a light touch.

The ring finger is useful here because it naturally applies less pressure. Pat the product in gently and give it a moment before continuing.

No cream can undo everything you did last night. But the right one can make the evidence less enthusiastic.

Day Cream or S.O.S?

Most mornings, we use Day Cream.

It is our everyday moisturiser for all skin types: hydrating, protective and comfortable enough to take the skin through the day without feeling heavy. Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, squalane and shea butter help keep the skin soft, smooth and calm.

Think of it as the reliable choice.

No emergency. No drama. Just skin behaving well. But some mornings the skin asks for something else.

If it feels unusually dry, tight, sensitive or irritated, or has been exposed to cold weather, too much sun, travel, strong treatments or central heating, we reach for S.O.S Barrier Repair Cream instead.

It is richer, perfume-free and developed to calm stressed skin while supporting its protective barrier. We use it during Swedish winters, after professional skin treatments and whenever the face seems to be objecting to recent decisions.

You do not necessarily need both.

Choose Day Cream when the skin feels balanced and wants daily hydration and protection. Choose S.O.S when it feels vulnerable and needs more comfort, calm and support.

The face is allowed to change its mind.

Apply enough to make the skin feel comfortable, but not so much that everything placed on top begins moving south before lunch.

And don’t stop at the jawline. Bring the cream down over the neck. The neck has attended all the same birthdays.

Finally: SPF 50

Every morning. All year.

Sun Defence Face Cream SPF50 is the final step before we leave the bathroom. We apply it to the face, ears and neck, and to the backs of the hands when we remember to behave like responsible adults.

SPF is not only for beaches, holidays or unusually optimistic Swedish summer days. It is daily protection against something the skin encounters every time we step outside.

You may skip a serum. You may change your moisturiser. SPF is the one step we don’t negotiate with.

That’s it

Cleanse. Mist. Treat. Moisturise. Protect.

Five minutes on a good morning. Slightly longer if someone has moved the Eye Cream and refuses to admit it.

Skincare does not need to be complicated to be effective. Use good products. Apply them in the right order. Pay attention to your skin.

What We Mean When We Say “Just a Little”

The most frequently used, and least helpful, instruction in beauty. “Apply a small amount.” You have probably read this on hundreds of bottles. We have written it ourselves. But what exactly is a s...
