Johan Elmander, is a football icon with 85 international matches for Sweden, and is absolutely worshipped in Turkey. His career innocently began in his native Sweden; Holmalund/Alingsås, with a stopover in Örgryte, which then took the player overseas to France, then Turkey, followed by England, Denmark and then back to Sweden.

We thought we would get up close to what could be the coolest Swedish athlete we know, and pick his brain on his overall style and holistic life attitude.

How do you consider yourself as a man?

I think masculinity lies in being comfortable with oneself. Dare to show one’s feelings with confidence, and take responsibility for one’s actions.

Your gorgeous wife Amanda, runs one of Sweden's best-known beauty and wellness institutes, the Beauty Factory, how has this influenced your skincare regimen?

The “Beauty Factory” is a significant part of our lives and a natural topic of discussion at home. Amanda’s passion, and engagement draws me into her day-to-day management.

Will your next career move have anything to do with grooming, and well-being?

You never know. It is a very interesting and lucrative industry, and I guess I already have my foot in the door.

Your favorite product from the Lernberger Stafsing range for men?

For sure the Grooming Oil, Soft Wax and Shampoo that I use every day.

How often do you go to the hairdresser?

We have a barber at the “Beauty Factory”, which I go to at regular intervals. I think taking time for myself is important, and there is a big difference when my barber shaves and trims, and when I meekly try to replicate his skills at home.

How does your grooming routine look like?

I swear by the hair and skincare range “MR. Lernberger Stafsing”, and all my hair, body, and beard products are derived from “MR. LS”. The products are free from sulphate, paraben, and they smell amazing!

Your nickname is "Pope", where does that come from?

The nickname “Pope” was bestowed on me many years ago in Sweden at the junior league. I was resolved on a calculated match strategy to the disapproval of my coach.

Do you consider yourself a tad vainglorious?

Most definitely! It has been determined in the household that I am the one who spends more time in front of the mirror!
